- Awards Night (March 17). The Girls Ministries clubs will be recognizing the girls’ accomplishments for the past quarter this Wednesday, starting around 7:00 PM.
- Family Movie Night (March 19). Bring your family at 7:00 PM to the Youth Chapel to enjoy the animated movie, “Joseph: King of Dreams,” fellowship, and light refreshments.
- Water Baptism (March 21). A water baptism will be held during the 11:00 service next week. A class for all those being baptized is being held today in the Triangle room during the Christian education hour, 10:00-10:50 AM.
- Child Dedication (March 28). If you want to dedicate your child to the Lord, please fill out a card at the Welcome Center. The dedication will be held during the 11:00 AM service.
- Passover Seder (April 3). There will be a catered Passover Seder on Saturday, April 3, 4:00-8:00 PM, in the Fellowship Hall. Seating is limited. Please sign up at the Welcome Center. Five dollars per adult or child is due when you sign up to reserve your dinner.
- Beth Moore Simulcast (April 24). Sign up continues for the Beth Moore “So Long, Insecurity” simulcast, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at Highland Baptist Church, 19 Cedar Street, Fitchburg. All women are invited. Lunch will be provided. There is no cost, but an offering will be taken to defray expenses. Please sign up at the Welcome Center by Sunday, March 28.
THE ABCs OF SALVATION
To know God and be ready for heaven, follow these steps:
A. Admit you are a sinner.
“There is no one righteous, not even one … for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:10, 23). Ask God’s forgiveness and repent of your sins. “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13).
B. Believe in Jesus as your only hope of salvation.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). Become a child of God by receiving Christ.
“To all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12).
C. Confess that Jesus is your Lord.
“If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9).

A WORD FROM PASTOR MARK

Early in the morning on Friday, February 26, we (the Bouchers) discovered that our basement was flooded. Because our home was on the market, we needed to get it fixed and ready…fast! A lot of work needed to be done, and I prayed for wisdom and direction from the Lord. He put Harry Marshall on my heart and Proverbs 17:17: “A friend loves at all times.” After I spoke to Harry, he immediately started calling guys and organized a “mission trip” to 172 Birchcroft Road. Through the sacrifice and hard work of many faithful men, this project is nearly completed. Their labor of love saved me a great amount of time and money. This church is filled with great people, and I am so thankful for every person who helped. May Jesus return the investment is so many ways!

A WORD FROM PASTOR MARK

This past week I have experienced many deep emotions. Announcing my resignation from Leominster Assembly of God last Sunday was the hardest decision I have ever made. I want to thank you so much for being gracious and loving. Sometimes people draw back from those who are moving away. Please know that we need your love and prayers more than ever at this time, and we pledge to give our all to you these next seven weeks. While thinking of you, I remembered 1 Thessalonians 4:9, “Now about brotherly love we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other.” Thanks for allowing God to teach you to love—in spite of the circumstances. God bless.

The full potential of a life will not be experienced until we have a clear, biblical understanding of spiritual gifts. For this reason, Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 12:1, “Now concerning spiritual gifts … I would not have you be ignorant.” Come and begin to discover the gifts God has bestowed upon you and how you can put them into practice to serve and bless others.
WELCOME TO THE FAMILY

In this course you are introduced to the purposes and vision of Leominster Assembly of God as well as the practices and policies of the church. This course is for anyone interested in becoming a member of our church and is a requirement for membership. Class size is limited to 15, and it is held in Pastor Mark’s office.
ROMANS: Paul’s Gospel of Grace
taught by Nunzio Nano
Students will understand that it is not what we do to earn salvation and grace, but what Jesus did. Through this study, we will see that all we need is to surrender our old selves, to trust God unconditionally, and to allow Him to work through us via the Holy Spirit– Christ is us and working through us!
Youth and Children Classes
4s and 5s ~ Sally Dyer
These little ones will enjoy stories about the parable of the lost sheep, the woman who anointed Jesus’ feet, Communion, and Jesus’ triumphal entry and resurrection. They will find out how Jesus appeared to His friends and gave good news to two men on the Emmaus road, helped Thomas conquer doubts, forgave Peter, and then returned to heaven to prepare a place for His friends. The students will learn about Jesus’ ability and desire to heal as demonstrated through stories about a man who was paralyzed, others with leprosy, and a soldier’s servant who was healed from afar.
1st and 2nd Grade ~ Rick and JoAnn Boehm
Through Jesus’ miracles, kids will discover that no illness is too difficult for Him to heal. Calming a storm and bringing Lazarus back to life are samples of the stories that will prove Jesus’ power to these students. Healing a blind beggar, Jairus’ daughter, ten lepers, and others show how Jesus used His healing power to show love. The children will enjoy the thrilling stories of mighty miracles: Rahab and the spies, parting the Jordan River, the fall of Jericho’s walls, and the sun standing still. They will find out how Jesus died on the cross, rose from the dead to bring us eternal life, and met with two sad friends, letting them know He is alive. They will also learn that during the time of the judges, God chose great people to lead, including brave Deborah, doubting Gideon, and impulsive Samson.
3rd and 4th Grade ~ Debbie Nurnberger
Kids will learn about God through the Trinity, Creation, and the Ten Commandments. Lot, Jacob, Moses, and the Israelites show the students how God is always with them. Children’s faith will be increased through stories of how God has power over a rock, the law of gravity, an army, and an idol. Then, through stories of Easter, kids will be able to describe what Communion symbols mean, how Jesus suffered for us, and His resurrection. The students will be challenged to name and number the Ten Commandments as well as share how they teach us to relate to God and others. They will find out how we know the Bible is God’s Word as well as how it serves as a guide for our daily lives.
5th and 6th Grade ~ Matthew Maguy
Stories of how Rahab, Bartimaeus, and a soldier demonstrated faith in God will challenge students to do the same. They will also be challenged to make right choices of forgiveness, honesty, kindness, and following God’s Word. Lessons will show kids how they are accountable to God for their actions, but He provides mercy for those who repent. The next lessons focus on how and why each Gospel writer presented a different view of Jesus, showing students how Gentiles were reached as a result. Students will be challenged to explain God’s plan for salvation, why the Church is a body, and what the Christian’s hope is through a study of Paul’s letters to the early church. They will find out how to live their faith, respond to problems in God-pleasing ways, and use three questions to help them discern false teaching.
Middle School ~ Jessica DeFilippo
Jessica has recently begun teaching our seventh- and eighth- grade students. They are studying the book, Crazy Love: Overwhelmed by a Relentless God, by Francis Chan. The class is centered around open discussion each week as they explore their faith.
High School ~ Pastor Darryl Riehle
Pastor Darryl is doing a series of devotions on Sunday mornings that are continued on Sunday evenings at Youth Group. You don’t want to miss either of these ministries if you are in high school!

A WORD FROM PASTOR MARK

Imagine what he could have been. This thought kept coming to my mind as I started reading about the life of Samson (Judges 13-16). Godly parents, the call of God, amazing gifts…all were graciously given to Samson by a loving God. However, one chink in his armor exposed him to disgrace and defeat. Samson’s lust for sexual immorality robbed him of “what could have been.” Although God extended mercy at the end of Samson’s life when he prayed, we are left to wonder about Samson’s unfulfilled potential. If only his great strength had been directed toward keeping a pure heart before God. May we, by His grace, conquer our inner battles and fulfill God’s great plan!

Becoming an Effective Steward

Text: Romans 14:12
Introduction
We have come to the last message in our series Letting Christ Change Us, connecting our vision with our values.
(Show the circles) We have come full circle I guess you could say as today we focus our attention on the call to effective stewardship.
Steward = one to whose care anything has been given, a manager, an administrator, guardian.
We are all stewards for the Lord. Each of us had been given a life, time, talents, gifts, abilities, money and possessions. God is the owner of all of these things and we are his managers, guardians, administrators.
Romans 14:12 – So then, each of us will give and account of himself to God.
There are 2,350 verses in the Bible on handling money & possessions.
There is one verse that helps explain why so many Christians struggle in this area of their walk with the Lord.
Isaiah 55:8-9 – For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
In the area of finances, possessions we do not think like God thinks, nor do our ways line up with God’s ways. So this is a delicate subject but one that must be preached.
TRANSITION: What I would like to do today is look at five key areas of our lives and see what God thinks and says about them in regards to being good stewards of God’s stuff.
WORK
1. Colossians 3:23-24 – Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men; since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
2. “Whatever” here means whatever! It doesn’t matter what you do as long as it is with all your heart. In work God isn’t looking at the what He is looking at the heart!
3. Do you see yourself everyday going to work for God or men? This will change how your work?
4. Our reward is not from men (our employer/boss) but God! We all work for the Lord!
5. 2 Thessalonians 3:10 – If a man will not work, he shall not eat. (Do you remember what happens in Genesis chapter 3? Man sins!)
6. Genesis 2:15 (before sin) – The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.
7. Work is not sin or a curse! But part of God’s design for man to fulfill his purpose while he is here on this earth.
PERSPECTIVE
1. Philippians 4:11-13 – I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
2. The world around us teaches us that circumstances dictate action. But the apostle Paul wants us to see a different perspective.
3. Whatever the circumstances (in need or in plenty) if we are living by God’s principles we can do everything through the Lord!
DEBT
1. This is a touchy subject indeed, especially in our day. But we need to let God’s Word speak to every area of our lives.
2. Proverbs 22:7 – The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.
3. 1 Corinthians 7:23 – You were bought at a price; do not become slaves to men.
4. The dictionary defines debt as money that a person is obligated to pay to another.
5. Debt puts us in the role of a servant or (according to 1 Cor.7) a type of slave.
6. The Bible does not say that debt is sin, but it discourages the use of debt as we can see from these previous verses.
7. There are two things that debt does that are dangerous.
I Debt presumes upon tomorrow. When we get into debt we presume that we will earn enough or our jobs will continue for a long time and be profitable. James 4 says, you do not know what you life will be like tomorrow.
II Debt often denies God an Opportunity to show Himself Mighty. (Share story of young man who wanted to go to seminary to become a missionary. He had no money and would be $40,000 in debt on a loan but would never be able to pay it off on a missionary’s salary. So he enrolled without a loan and was amazed how God provided as he went to school & worked.
8. Romans 13:8 – Let no debt remain outstanding…(if we owe God expects us to pay)
9. Getting into debt (beyond a mortgage or well planned out financial decision that does not put undue stress on the budget) is usually a surface symptom of a deeper problem. Show the slide of the iceberg.
10. Before we move on let me say two things, consider a change of life style (used cars, second hand stores, local vacations, cooking at home) cut up credit cards; secondly DO NOT GIVE UP. You can do all things through Christ. Just have to be willing!!
GIVING
1. Acts 20:35 – “It is more blessed to give than to receive.
2. 1 Timothy 6:18-19 – Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasures for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.
3. God is a giver and is looking for givers. Someone once said if you want to be sure that you are in control of your money and not the other way around; give it away to the Lord’s works!
4. The true test of giving is not what you give but what you have left after you give.
ETERNITY
1. Mark 8:36 – What good is it for a man, to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?
2. More times than we care to admit, people choose the possessions & wealth of this world over following God’s ways.
3. Parable of the Rich Fool (Luke 12:16-21; Turn and read NIV)
a) V.19 – You have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat drink and be merry.
b) V.20 – But God said, you fool! This very night your life will be demanded of you.
c) The rich fool was a fool not because he was rich, but rather his focus was on this life and taking it easy. God’s focus is on eternity.
d) V.21- Store up things for yourself but are you rich toward God?
4. “Take care of your body as though you will live forever; take care of your soul as if you will die tomorrow.”
5. Eternity is not a place for the things of this world; it is a place for the soul.
6. 1 Timothy 6:7 – For we brought nothing into this world, and we can take nothing out of it.
7. Our failure to view our life through God’s lens of eternity is a major hindrance to seeing our lives and our possessions in their true light. (don’t think 30 yrs from now think 30 million)
CLOSING
1. We started off by saying that God’s thought & ways are not ours. In the area of stewardship to allow His ways to lead us will bring great blessings in the end.
2. Matthew 6:20, 21 – Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven where moth and rust do not destroy and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
3. God wants every one of you to be storing up treasure in heaven. Now is the time when we do that.
4. Prayer for work, debt, getting Gods perspective with money, being a Godly giver or having an eternal perspective.

THE ABCs OF SALVATION
To know God and be ready for heaven, follow these steps:
A. Admit you are a sinner.
“There is no one righteous, not even one … for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:10, 23). Ask God’s forgiveness and repent of your sins. “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13).
B. Believe in Jesus as your only hope of salvation.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). Become a child of God by receiving Christ.
“To all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12).
C. Confess that Jesus is your Lord.
“If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9).
