House at 856 Main Street to be Razed
April 2, 2008 by admin.
House info: Upon close inspection, the yellow house at 856 Main St. was deemed unsafe and unhealthy for ministry use. Some of the safety and health reasons for razing the buildings:
- unsafe wiring
- asbestos contamination
- lead paint throughout
- water flow in cellar
- mold growth
- open waste water and sewage lines
The contracted land clearing began in early March with the drawing of the necessary permits. While waiting for these permits and asbestos removal, tree, stump, and pool removal has begun and is progressing to the current point in progress. One more permit is on it’s way and the asbestos has been removed. Building demolition should begin on April 15, 2008.
