A WORD FROM PASTOR MARK

The prophet Habakkuk was confused. Why is there so much sin in the world? Destruction, violence, strife, and conflict abound, but God doesn’t seem to hear. Habakkuk honestly and prayerfully voiced his concerns to God. The Lord revealed to him how he should respond in trying times. Here are Habakkuk’s words: “I will wait patiently for the day of calamity to come on the nation invading us. Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines … yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength …” (3:16b-19). There will be times when we will not understand the injustices in the world. We must be patient, hopeful, and joyful in God, and willing to find our strength in Him alone—no matter what happens!
