A WORD FROM PASTOR MARK
August 30, 2009 by PastorMark.
Most people know the first words in the Bible: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). Today, in my devotions, I pondered the last words in the Bible. What do you suppose God emphasized in His last statement to us? Revelation 22:21 says, “The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen.” There it is—grace! May our eyes be opened to the amazing, all-sufficient grace of Jesus needed in our lives every moment of this fleeting life. Remember: God never tires of giving His grace to those who ask!

A WORD FROM PASTOR MARK
August 23, 2009 by PastorMark.
Desires are powerful. What we desire we embrace and pursue in order to find some sort of fulfillment. There are two directions we can choose to direct our passions and desires. We can aim to please ourselves or seek to please God. The book of Jude speaks about the increase of those who in the last times “follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit” (v. 19). In contrast, Jude tells the believers to “build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit” (v. 20). A growing faith and prayer life with Christ empowers us to delight in holy desires rather than capitulate to the evil desires springing from our selfish, fallen nature. You get to decide what desires control you. Choose Christ’s!

A WORD FROM PASTOR DAVE
August 16, 2009 by PastorDave.
Psalm 9:10 tells us, “They that know thy name will put their trust in thee.” And in Psalm 91:14 God declares, “I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.” The message is that the “name” of our Lord is something we need to study and know. When God chooses a name, it has significant meaning. Remember that God sent an angel to Joseph and Mary because He had a name already picked out for His Son … Jesus. Today, as we worship the Lord together, ask the Holy Spirit to open your heart to a deeper, personal understanding of the name of the Lord. May the Spirit of God pour out today a fresh revelation of Jesus’ name to each and every one of us!
