DRAWING CLOSER TO GOD
This class is for all new Christians as well as any Christian who wants to draw closer to God. God says that if we draw close to Him, He will draw close to us. This is your chance to become the dynamic, joyful disciple of Christ that you have always wanted to be. This class is a requirement for membership.
Taught by Nunzio Nano
Location: This class meets at the Johnny Appleseed Elementary School across the street from the church.
THE CHURCH, THE GOSPEL AND GOD’S WORD
The Lord has not changed since the time of Paul, nor has His commission to His followers. The Church is still to be expanding in our time. We can learn from God’s Word what we can do in our time and in our day to fulfill our part in growing the Kingdom of God.
Taught by Vivian Butler
Location: This class meets at the Johnny Appleseed Elementary School across the street from the church.
FIVE LOVE LANGUAGES FOR COUPLES
The leading author in biblical marriage counseling speaks love into your marriage. With over 30 years of experience in marriage counseling, Dr. Gary Chapman has worked closely with thousands of couples struggling with countless issues. But at the heart of every marriage he has encountered –including his own–rests the same core longing: all people need to feel loved. This class is limited to 12 couples.
Taught by Pastor Dave and Tatiana McIntosh
Location: This class meets at the Johnny Appleseed Elementary School across the street from the church.
FINANCIAL FREEDOM
Emmanuel O. Onos, CPA, has taught the principles and practices of Financial Freedom since September 2003 at LAOG. You will learn how to recognize your road of financial success, how to receive the means to prepare the road and remove the obstacles in your way, and how to realize your rewards of eternal pleasure, power, and possessions in this life and in the life to come. A good measure of the success that can be yours is best illustrated by one faithful student who in June 2003 had no personal savings and over $50,000 in credit card and other personal debt, but by July 2007 saw all these debts fully paid–in addition to having over $20,000 in personal savings.
Taught by Manny Onos
Location: This class meets at the Johnny Appleseed Elementary School across the street from the church.
REBUILDING THE REAL YOU
Nehemiah’s rebuilding of Jerusalem’s walls offers a beautiful picture of the restoration of broken lives through the patient ministry of the Holy Spirit. Did you ever wonder, Why do so many born again Christians still feel broken? or Why does it take so long to get better? or How can we get moving and rise above the things that cripple us? Just as Nehemiah went to Jerusalem with all the provisions he would need for the building program, so the Holy Spirit comes to you with all you need to be restored! “He who has begun a good work in you will complete it!”
Taught by Jean Meppelink
Location: This class meets at the Johnny Appleseed Elementary School across the street from the church.
CHILDREN’S & YOUTH CLASSES
All children and youth classes meet in the Sunday school rooms in the church.
2s and 3s ~ Christine Salliby
These young children will learn to praise God just like those who crossed the Red Sea. The stories of Jesus and His friends Mary, Martha, and Lazarus will show kids how to be a good friend. Kids will discover how to be thankful for their homes and families through stories about Abraham and Sarah. Just like God sent rain for Elijah, the children will discover that God provides water.
4s and 5s ~ Sally Dyer
The students in this class will discover how God helps them in times of need through stories of Moses. Stories about Nicodemus, Jesus’ baptism, and the Lord’s Prayer introduce a solid spiritual foundation.
1st and 2nd grade ~ Rick and JoAnn Boehm
Through Jesus’ miracles, kids will discover that no illness is too difficult for Him to heal. Calming a storm and bringing Lazarus back to life are samples of the stories that will prove Jesus’ power to these students. Healing a blind beggar, Jairus’ daughter, ten lepers, and others show how Jesus used His healing power to show love.
3rd and 4th grade ~ Debbie Nurnberger
Kids will learn about God through the Trinity, Creation, and the Ten Commandments. Lot, Jacob, Moses, and the Israelites show the students how God is always with them. Faith will be increased through stories of how God has power over a rock, the law of gravity, an army, and an idol.
5th and 6th grade ~ Matthew Maguy
Stories of how Rahab, Bartimaeus, and a soldier demonstrated faith in God will challenge students to do the same. They will be challenged to make right choices of forgiveness, honesty, kindness, and following God’s Word. Lessons show kids how they are accountable to God for their actions, but that He provides mercy for those who repent.
7th and 8th grade ~ Thaddeus and Dagii Bell
Students will discover how to overcome challenges to purity, relationships, and integrity when using technology. The lessons of Esther show students how to take a strong stand for what’s right when facing serious opposition. Students will find out more about missions, how they can be involved now, and how to recognize the call to missionary service.
High School ~ Pastor Darryl Riehle
The students in this class will be studying Demolishing Strongholds from Answers in Genesis by Ken Ham. This curriculum will educate and equip teens with tools necessary to embrace the biblical worldview.
