Pastoral Search Committee Update
- Preparatory work prior to our first meeting took 6 weeks. This included preparing and evaluating survey forms and questionnaires and organizing all paperwork to get ready to conduct well-organized meetings.
- To date, six Search Committee meetings have already taken place.
- The committee is currently awaiting recommendations from the Living Stones consultants since their evaluation of our situation.
- The Southern New England District has approved only 1 candidate so far. This person received our questionnaire, was evaluated and screened, voted on, and there was a unanimous decision not to present his name to the deacon board for consideration. Other resumes have been received, but to date no credence has been given to them by our district.
- We are now awaiting more candidate names from District Supt. Bob Wise.
- The committee has diligently worked for over 2 months and will hold its next meeting on Sept. 12th.
Deacon Board Update
- The Deacon Board has had many regularly scheduled and extra meetings (16) since April 25, 2010.
- Some meetings have been lengthy (4-6 hours) to continually address the important issues of church management during this interim period.
- The frequent and lengthy meetings will continue into the future as conditions dictate.
