  • MISSIONARY OF THE WEEK
    • Larry and Dee McNeill, Cuba Bible College
    • In no country of Latin America has the church faced more restrictions and unimaginable hardships than in Cuba, yet recently 126 Cuban pastors traveled by freight trucks, rusty cars, bicycles and on foot to take part in the highest level of ministerial training offered by the Assemblies of God. They have been studying 14 hours a day in our master’s degree program.126! Cuba! This is three times more pastors than have ever studied in any other Spanish-speaking country of Latin America. During the fifty plus years of the Cuban revolution, in spite of untold hardships, and with their Bible college building having been seized, the Cuban church never stopped their Bible Institute program for training pastors. Thanks for your prayers and contributions for this worthy ministry and the great Cuban church!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING SUMMARY
    • Last Sunday evening, the congregation chose 4 deacons to serve 2 year terms.  They are: Rick Jackson, Jean Rogers, Paul Thibodeau, and Jackson Toxla.  Also, Renee Benoit and Denise Shatos were affirmed to serve as the corporate secretary and treasurer respectively.  As a part of our worship today we will be conse-crating this governance team for service for the coming year.  As indicated in the Pastor’s Report, Sally Dyer has been asked to serve as the Group Ministry Coach.  We welcome Sally to the ministry team and are looking forward to a life-giving network of groups in our church. Thanks to all for being available for service.
    • The congregation also passed 4 resolutions:
    • Resolution #1 - Lobby Expansion Project
    • Resolution #2 - Constitution and Bylaws Revision Task Force
    • Resolution #3 - Name Change Task Force
    • Resolution #4 - Master Site Plan Task Force
    • These resolutions will now be placed before the Church Board for implementation.  Please pray for faith and wisdom to permeate our prayerful planning.  For sure, these are exciting days of opportunity to be a part of what the Lord is doing through our fellowship.  May His name be honored is all we do.
  • WOMEN INSPIRING WOMEN
    • Ladies 10-Week Bible Study Begins this Tuesday 4/12
    • Ann Martin will be leading the women in “Choices” by Alicia Britt Chole. We will meet in the Youth Chapel, and you may attend either 9:30 AM or 7PM.
  • GOOD FRIDAY/EASTER SUNDAY
    • Help us celebrate our Lord’s death and resurrection.  On Good Friday we have scheduled 2 showings of the timeless movie, “The Passion of the Christ” (2PM and 7PM).  If the purpose of Good Friday is to remember our Lord’s death, there are very few more powerful ways to be reminded.  He died for ME.  We are also asking the congregation to actively extend an invitation for others to join us on Easter Sunday as we celebrate the empty tomb.  This day is pivotal for Christian faith.  Next week we will have invite cards ready to assist in our invitation work.  Let’s work together to capitalize on a prevailing God-consciousness in our culture during the Easter season. Let’s fill the house.

A WORD FROM PASTOR PAUL

Welcome!
I know it’s New England, but is it safe to say that spring has arrived?  I don’t want to jinx anything.  :)  The flowers are beginning to peek through the flower beds.  This week I saw my first crocuses for the season.  YES!  Life is showing its presence everywhere we look.  It’s a wonderful season.  Perhaps we could also say it’s spring at LAOG as well.  We’ve come through a winter season and now it’s spring.  New life, renewed ministries, fresh vision, fired up passion, all reminding us that when Jesus came out of the grave, He came to breathe resurrection life into all we are and all we do.

We welcome our guest worship leader today, Brandon Lemois. You can read a little about him in the intro piece in the bulletin.  Let’s open our hearts to the Holy Spirit’s working.  Today also we will be consecrating our 2011 Church Council as chosen by the congregation last week.  We thank God for His guidance in all we do and trust Him for future provision of all needed to accomplish His work in us and through us.

Guests who are with us today, it would be a joy for us to get to know you.  One of the simple ways to introduce yourself to us is to fill out a Connection Card and bring it to the welcome center in the lobby.  A token gift is prepared for you there.  Thank you so much.

PEACE
Paul R. Martin, Lead Pastor
