  • SPOONS FOR HAITI
    • We will collect spoons 9/11 and 9/18
    • For many Haitian children hunger is all they have ever known. Hunger is with them the moment they awake, and as they try to keep their tummy quiet to fall asleep. New Missions provides a hearty cooked meal at school. But there are rules—good ones to protect health and life. Each student must wash their hands before eating. Eating without a spoon is not the best option for a child. We do not want them to eat with their hands, even though they may do this at home. Hungry, without a spoon, their eyes search for a friend who will let them borrow his or her spoon. A spoon…what a blessing we can be with something so small. Go buy spoons…buy hundreds of spoons! Buy them for the child, for their family, and buy them for the village. You can find them at yard sales or thrift shops. Let’s provide them spoons for their daily hot lunches at school.
