BRINGING JESUS HOME
taught by Pastor David & Tatiana
In the fast-paced, get-it-done-yesterday world we live in, we have worshiped God in church but have failed at bringing God and His ways home. Come discover how to begin to “get your home back.” May we be able to say in word and in practice, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
HE GAVE GIFTS
taught by Vivian Butler
The full potential of a life will not be experienced until we have a clear, biblical understanding of spiritual gifts. For this reason, Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 12:1, “Now concerning spiritual gifts … I would not have you be ignorant.” Come and begin to discover the gifts God has bestowed upon you and how you can put them into practice to serve and bless others.
WELCOME TO THE FAMILY
taught by Pastor Mark & Manny Onos
In this course you are introduced to the purposes and vision of Leominster Assembly of God as well as the practices and policies of the church. This course is for anyone interested in becoming a member of our church and is a requirement for membership. Class size is limited to 15, and it is held in Pastor Mark’s office.
ROMANS: Paul’s Gospel of Grace
taught by Nunzio Nano
Students will understand that it is not what we do to earn salvation and grace, but what Jesus did. Through this study, we will see that all we need is to surrender our old selves, to trust God unconditionally, and to allow Him to work through us via the Holy Spirit– Christ is us and working through us!
Youth and Children Classes
4s and 5s ~ Sally Dyer
These little ones will enjoy stories about the parable of the lost sheep, the woman who anointed Jesus’ feet, Communion, and Jesus’ triumphal entry and resurrection. They will find out how Jesus appeared to His friends and gave good news to two men on the Emmaus road, helped Thomas conquer doubts, forgave Peter, and then returned to heaven to prepare a place for His friends. The students will learn about Jesus’ ability and desire to heal as demonstrated through stories about a man who was paralyzed, others with leprosy, and a soldier’s servant who was healed from afar.
1st and 2nd Grade ~ Rick and JoAnn Boehm
Through Jesus’ miracles, kids will discover that no illness is too difficult for Him to heal. Calming a storm and bringing Lazarus back to life are samples of the stories that will prove Jesus’ power to these students. Healing a blind beggar, Jairus’ daughter, ten lepers, and others show how Jesus used His healing power to show love. The children will enjoy the thrilling stories of mighty miracles: Rahab and the spies, parting the Jordan River, the fall of Jericho’s walls, and the sun standing still. They will find out how Jesus died on the cross, rose from the dead to bring us eternal life, and met with two sad friends, letting them know He is alive. They will also learn that during the time of the judges, God chose great people to lead, including brave Deborah, doubting Gideon, and impulsive Samson.
3rd and 4th Grade ~ Debbie Nurnberger
Kids will learn about God through the Trinity, Creation, and the Ten Commandments. Lot, Jacob, Moses, and the Israelites show the students how God is always with them. Children’s faith will be increased through stories of how God has power over a rock, the law of gravity, an army, and an idol. Then, through stories of Easter, kids will be able to describe what Communion symbols mean, how Jesus suffered for us, and His resurrection. The students will be challenged to name and number the Ten Commandments as well as share how they teach us to relate to God and others. They will find out how we know the Bible is God’s Word as well as how it serves as a guide for our daily lives.
5th and 6th Grade ~ Matthew Maguy
Stories of how Rahab, Bartimaeus, and a soldier demonstrated faith in God will challenge students to do the same. They will also be challenged to make right choices of forgiveness, honesty, kindness, and following God’s Word. Lessons will show kids how they are accountable to God for their actions, but He provides mercy for those who repent. The next lessons focus on how and why each Gospel writer presented a different view of Jesus, showing students how Gentiles were reached as a result. Students will be challenged to explain God’s plan for salvation, why the Church is a body, and what the Christian’s hope is through a study of Paul’s letters to the early church. They will find out how to live their faith, respond to problems in God-pleasing ways, and use three questions to help them discern false teaching.
Middle School ~ Jessica DeFilippo
Jessica has recently begun teaching our seventh- and eighth- grade students. They are studying the book, Crazy Love: Overwhelmed by a Relentless God, by Francis Chan. The class is centered around open discussion each week as they explore their faith.
High School ~ Pastor Darryl Riehle
Pastor Darryl is doing a series of devotions on Sunday mornings that are continued on Sunday evenings at Youth Group. You don’t want to miss either of these ministries if you are in high school!

THE CHURCH, THE GOSPEL AND GOD’S WORD
The Lord has not changed since the time of Paul, nor has His commission to His followers. The Church is still to be expanding in our time. We can learn from God’s Word what we can do in our time and in our day to fulfill our part in growing the Kingdom of God.
Taught by Vivian Butler

FIVE LOVE LANGUAGES FOR COUPLES
The leading author in biblical marriage counseling speaks love into your marriage. With over 30 years of experience in marriage counseling, Dr. Gary Chapman has worked closely with thousands of couples struggling with countless issues. But at the heart of every marriage he has encountered –including his own–rests the same core longing: all people need to feel loved. This class is limited to 12 couples.

Location: This class meets at the Johnny Appleseed Elementary School across the street from the church.
FINANCIAL FREEDOM
Emmanuel O. Onos, CPA, has taught the principles and practices of Financial Freedom since September 2003 at LAOG. You will learn how to recognize your road of financial success, how to receive the means to prepare the road and remove the obstacles in your way, and how to realize your rewards of eternal pleasure, power, and possessions in this life and in the life to come. A good measure of the success that can be yours is best illustrated by one faithful student who in June 2003 had no personal savings and over $50,000 in credit card and other personal debt, but by July 2007 saw all these debts fully paid–in addition to having over $20,000 in personal savings.
Taught by Manny Onos
Location: This class meets at the Johnny Appleseed Elementary School across the street from the church.
REBUILDING THE REAL YOU
Nehemiah’s rebuilding of Jerusalem’s walls offers a beautiful picture of the restoration of broken lives through the patient ministry of the Holy Spirit. Did you ever wonder, Why do so many born again Christians still feel broken? or Why does it take so long to get better? or How can we get moving and rise above the things that cripple us? Just as Nehemiah went to Jerusalem with all the provisions he would need for the building program, so the Holy Spirit comes to you with all you need to be restored! “He who has begun a good work in you will complete it!”
Taught by Jean Meppelink
Location: This class meets at the Johnny Appleseed Elementary School across the street from the church.
CHILDREN’S & YOUTH CLASSES
All children and youth classes meet in the Sunday school rooms in the church.

4s and 5s ~ Sally Dyer

English as a Second Language Classes
August 2, 2009 by admin.
ESL - “ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE”
Leominster Assembly is reaching out to the international community with its ESL school called “English For All Nations” (EFAN).
This is our fifth year having an ESL program. ESL is for people from other countries who want to learn the English language. It is a valued program which serves as a bridge from the church to the community. We teach whoever comes and registers for our program. In years past we had Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced classes. Every year is different because the need is different. This past year we registered 102 students from 20 different countries. It is a joy to see the students come to us weekly to learn some skills.
This year we will have registration on Saturday August 29 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. There we give the students a test to access what level they will be in the program. Some come with no English at all and with them we start at the beginning with alphabet and sounds. Other students come with some skills and we fit them in the program where we believe they should be. We use State of the Art materials integrated in Reading, Writing, Listening and Conversation skills. The teachers/tutors/aides are volunteers that are committed, excited and professional in what they do. They take their teaching seriously and come prepared to give the students the best that they can.
The courses are free to the students. We charge only for the cost of the book. We are blessed at LAOG because we have the fellowship hall/class rooms in which to teach the students. We are a giving and loving church and we as staff, give of ourselves cheerfully and freely. We will be having classes beginning Tuesday evening, September 1 from 6:30 PM to 8:45 PM and Wednesday morning, September 2 from 9:00 AM to 11:15 AM.
We look forward to another good year to help bring the Gospel to pass - “Go and teach all Nations.” We are looking for staff to help us in this endeavor. If you are willing to help, please call Rita and she will set up Teacher Training for you.
Individuals who are interested in teaching or helping in the ESL school may request a packet of information by calling the church office at 978-534-1190, or e-mailing the school at info@laog.org. Some teaching experience is helpful, but not required. Training is offered for the fall season.
Prospective students may pick up a brochure in the church foyer, or call the church office at 978-534-1190 for more information.
Thank you and God Bless you and yours,
ESL Director, Rita T. Trainque

Christian Education Spring 2009 Electives

Beginning Sunday, March 1 through May 31 2009, 10:00-10:50 AM
WELCOME to the Family
- Taught by Pastor Mark & Mark Collett
- This course meets in Pastor Mark’s office.
You are introduced to the purposes and vision of Leominster Assembly of God as well as the practices and policies of the church. This course is for anyone interested in becoming a member of our church and is a requirement for membership.
Drawing Closer to God
- Taught by Nunzio Nano
- This course will meet in the Triangle room next to the sanctuary.
This class is for all new Christians as well as any Christian who wants to draw closer to God. God says that if we draw close to Him, He will draw close to us. This is your chance to become the dynamic, joyful disciple of Christ that you have always wanted to be. This class is a requirement for membership.
Practical Christian Living
- Taught by Harry Marshall
- This class will meet at the Johnny Appleseed Elementary School across the street from the church.
You will discover that just like people who were touched by Jesus because of their faith, adults today will find Jesus can forgive their sins, meet their needs, and teach them how to live in today’s world.
The Five Love Languages of Children
- Taught by Pastor Dave & Tatiana
- This class will meet at the Johnny Appleseed Elementary School across the street from the church.
Kids desperately need to know how much you love them. But if you don’t know their special “love language,” you might as well be speaking gibberish. Every child (like every adult) expresses and receives love best through one of five communication styles. Find out which one of these your child speaks and begin to break down relationship barriers!
Holy Spirit Series
- Taught by Jean Meppelink
- This class will meet at the Johnny Appleseed Elementary School across the street from the church.
In the Bible, the Holy Spirit is never ignored or treated as a vague influence or force of energy. He is treated as a person. Spirit, or pneuma in Greek, is a neutral word, but John uses personal, masculine pronouns to refer to Him. Jesus said, “I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever–the Spirit of truth … you know him, he lives with you and will be in you” (John 14:17).
Rediscovering Judaic Roots of Our Faith in the Bible
- Taught by Fumio Taku (Starts March 8 )
- This class will meet at the Johnny Appleseed Elementary School across the street from the church.
Our Christian experience is greatly enriched, and our faith strengthened, by studying the Jewish roots of our faith. We gain a deeper understanding of God’s Word and His commissions to us as we learn His covenants and the manner of life in which Jesus and His Jewish forefathers lived.
CHILDREN’S & YOUTH CLASSES
2s and 3s ~ Christine Salliby
Through stories of Moses and the Ten Commandments, kids will learn that the Bible is a special book, written for us to live by. They will discover the joy of Easter through stories about Jesus’ death and resurrection. The story of Joseph will show kids how families love, help, and forgive each other. The young ones find out how God will take care of them just like He took care of Elijah when he needed food and when he traveled.
4s and 5s ~ Sally Dyer and Heidi Antunes
This class will “meet” three kings: Solomon who was the wisest, Joash who grew up and repaired God’s temple, and Hezekiah who asked God to heal him. They will learn that Jesus is the King of all. Kids will hear about His triumphant entry into Jerusalem, how He served His friends and prayed, and about His victory over death. These students will explore unforgettable stories about Jonah, three Hebrew men thrown into a fiery furnace, Daniel in the lion’s den, Queen Esther, and Elijah’s ride into heaven.
1st and 2nd Grade ~ Rick and JoAnn Boehm
Kids will explore Joseph’s time as a slave and prisoner, his miraculous rise to rulership, and his gracious forgiveness of his brothers. They will discover that Jesus’ resurrection makes our salvation possible. They’ll also look at stories about Thomas, Jesus’ ascension into heaven, and His promise to return. Stories from Moses’ life share how he was rescued by a princess, called by God through a burning bush, and saw God work powerfully to free His people through plagues and miraculous signs.
3rd and 4th Grade ~ Debbie Nurnberger
This class will learn about Jesus’ suffering on the cross, why He is called the Lamb of God, and what He said about leaving the earth. Through Bible facts about how life will be during the millennial reign of Jesus, kids will get to explore end times. They will also discover how they can show spiritual fruit as they learn the purpose of the baptism in the Holy Spirit and look at the lives of Bible people.
5th and 6th Grade ~ Peter Kovacs, Alethea Morris, Kim Johnson
Through Hebrew poetry, kids will gain appreciation for expressing the struggles and joys of serving God and will be challenged to live for Him. They will explore the different names of Jesus and how He fulfills each name. Students will discuss the term born again and explore how the baptism in the Holy Spirit can help every believer grow spiritually.
Middle School ~ Thaddeus and Dagii Bell
Through biblical examples, students will gain insight into how to properly process emotions such as anger, bitterness, frustration, and anguish. Students will discover what was important to Jesus and how He can transform their lives through the events leading up to His crucifixion, death, and resurrection. Through stories about kings, students will find out that poor choices yield poor results. A final lesson on Pentecost shows students why the Holy Spirit came and how He can impact their lives.
High School ~ Pastor Darryl Riehle, Bob Tomic
Students will discover that worship goes beyond songs in a church service; it expands to a complete lifestyle where everything we do can become a devoted offering of worship to God. Because our popular culture can blur the distinction between light and dark, students will study the godly principles for ethical challenges that students face. Living in a world that is straying further from God’s truth, the students will explore biblical truths that address some of the world’s lies.

4s and 5s: Sally Dyer
Children will see past the glitter and gifts as they look at Christmas through the eyes of the angels and others who first heard about the miracle of Jesus’ birth. They will also discover how much Jesus cares when they’re ill, afraid, and even hungry through powerful stories about how Jesus helped others. Wednesday Night School Of The Word And Spirit
September 3, 2008 by admin.
NEW! Beginning September 3 6:30 – 8:00 PM
WEDNESDAY NIGHT SCHOOL OF THE WORD AND SPIRIT
Pastor Mark and Pastor Dave will be using the Bible to answer life’s challenging issues. It is our conviction that the Bible is the final authority for doctrine and life practice for all Christians. Because of this truth, everyone needs to have a better understanding of the Bible and its application to everyday life. We will begin with a study of Jacob and Joseph. These two men give us great insight into issues that we face today. Jacob and Joseph struggled with their personal relationship with God, family issues, personal suffering, anger, faith, and just living daily life. Neither of them made all the right choices, but because of their perseverance and love, their lives were blessed and they greatly influenced many!

Stories about Noah’s ark and the flood will show kids how to obey God and trust Him to keep them safe.
4s and 5s teachers: Sally Dyer and Heidi Antunes
Students will enjoy amazing stories about how Joseph saved his family, how Rahab risked her life, and how Joshua led Israel into the Promised Land. Peter fishing, Matthew collecting taxes, the Samaritan woman drawing water, and Zacchaeus climbing a tree show how Jesus reached out to people around Him. 1st and 2nd grade teachers: Rick and Joanne Boehm
Kids will discover that God not only created everything but that He also loved Adam and Eve even after they sinned. After learning about faithfulness through stories about Noah’s ark, kids will find out about Babel, the first city built after the Flood. Through Abraham, Lot, and Isaac, kids will explore faith, the danger of selfishness, and God’s provision.
3rd and 4th grade teachers: Debbie Nurnberger and Danielle Caron
Because Jesus healed others, kids will discover He still has the power to heal today. Through Esther, Jeremiah and others, kids will discover that God can be their source for guidance, courage, faith, wisdom, and love. Kids will be reminded that gifts aren’t deserved but instead show God’s love for us through stories about Jehoshaphat, the grateful leper, and the Prodigal Son.
5th and 6th grade teacher: Peter Kovacs
Through lessons about God’s nature, kids will see how He is true to His Word, keeps His promises, and provides a way for us to be in His family forever. Because what believers say and do can be a witness for or against Christ, kids will explore how they can help others gain eternal life.
