A WORD FROM PASTOR MARK

The Apostle Paul compared life to a race. While on the last lap, he wrote to Timothy, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7). For the Boucher family, today we run the last footsteps of our race here at Leominster Assembly of God. Thank you for running with us as we pursued the Lord Jesus and sought to fulfill His will. The apostle went on to declare, “Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing” (v. 8). Always remember: for the believer in Jesus, the best is yet ahead!

A WORD FROM PASTOR MARK

Some people think that God sits in heaven just looking to judge people who do evil. Yes, God does hate sin, but He loves people. The message of God’s Word declares His desire for people to turn to Him so He might forgive and redeem them. In 2 Chronicles 16:9 we read the Lord’s word to King Asa: “For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.” God longs to work in and through us…to strengthen us so we can do His will. Are you available to Him?

Solomon followed in the footsteps of his father, King David. The road ahead was uncertain and the responsibilities were great. Before his death, David gave anointed instruction to his young son Solomon. “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you” (1 Chronicles 28:20). I wonder how many times Solomon recalled his father’s wise words. Our Father God wants us to remember His words—especially in trying times. So, if you are in a difficult place today, don’t forget the promises God gave you yesterday.

A WORD FROM PASTOR MARK

She had nothing except a little oil. The prophet Elisha spoke a word from God to her and told her to go borrow as many jars as she could find. She and her sons took their vessel of oil and poured into one jar, then another, and another, until the last jar was filled! The widow’s oil stretched from a little to an overflow of provision. The miracles of God in our lives often involve the “stretching” of God’s blessing. He is able to take our supply and stretch it to last, and last. The next time you think about your car running well or your health going strong or any other blessing stretched by God, be sure to offer thanks to Him!

With so many major world crises swirling around us, it’s easy to feel somewhat guilty about praying for our own “small” needs. After all, what is my prayer request compared to what people are going through in Haiti or Chile? However, God doesn’t want us to think of prayer as just intercession for the big world events. He specifically encourages us to bring all of our needs before Him. In fact, God is pleased when we exercise faith in what may seem to be the small issues of life. Proverbs 15:8 says, “The prayer of the upright pleases him.” So, don’t feel guilty about praying for your daily concerns; but, also, remember those who suffer so much more. God bless!

A WORD FROM PASTOR MARK

Early in the morning on Friday, February 26, we (the Bouchers) discovered that our basement was flooded. Because our home was on the market, we needed to get it fixed and ready, fast! A lot of work needed to be done, and I prayed for wisdom and direction from the Lord. He put Harry Marshall on my heart and Proverbs 17:17: “A friend loves at all times.” After I spoke to Harry, he immediately started calling guys and organized a “mission trip” to 172 Birchcroft Road. Through the sacrifice and hard work of many faithful men, this project is nearly completed. Their labor of love saved me a great amount of time and money. This church is filled with great people, and I am so thankful for every person who helped. May Jesus return the investment is so many ways!

A WORD FROM PASTOR MARK

This past week I have experienced many deep emotions. Announcing my resignation from Leominster Assembly of God last Sunday was the hardest decision I have ever made. I want to thank you so much for being gracious and loving. Sometimes people draw back from those who are moving away. Please know that we need your love and prayers more than ever at this time, and we pledge to give our all to you these next seven weeks. While thinking of you, I remembered 1 Thessalonians 4:9, “Now about brotherly love we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other.” Thanks for allowing God to teach you to love—in spite of the circumstances. God bless.
